Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of terms

By downloading, installing, or using Fafnir ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

These Terms form a legal agreement between you and Olmo Technologies (the "Company", "we", "us", or "our"), a business based in Norway.

2. Service description

Fafnir is a backlog and collection mobile application for iOS. It allows users to:

• Build a library of games, movies, TV series, manga and books they want to get through or have finished
• Discover new titles through a swipe-based feed
• Track completion, levels, badges and time estimates
• Add friends by code and compare libraries, taste and recommendations

Titles, posters, descriptions, runtimes, scores and streaming availability are drawn from third-party media databases and are provided for informational purposes only — see the disclaimer in Section 7.

3. Account and friends

When you first open Fafnir, an anonymous account is created for you so your library can be backed up. You may optionally secure this account with Sign in with Apple, in which case you also agree to Apple's Terms of Service.

You are responsible for the display name you choose and for the friends you add. You may not choose a display name that is offensive, impersonates another person, or infringes anyone's rights. You add friends only by deliberately exchanging or scanning friend codes; you may remove a friend at any time from within the App.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Pricing

Fafnir is free to use. It contains no subscriptions, no in-app purchases, and no advertising. If this changes in the future, any paid features and their terms will be presented clearly before you choose to use them, and these Terms will be updated accordingly.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App
• Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any laws
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the App, its database, or its infrastructure
• Access, scrape, or overload the third-party media services the App relies on, or misuse our proxy for any purpose other than normal use of the App
• Transmit viruses, malware, or any harmful code through the App
• Use a display name or other content that is offensive, misleading, or infringes the rights of others

6. Intellectual property

The App itself — including its design, wordmark, dragon-eye artwork, text, and code — is the property of Olmo Technologies and is protected by Norwegian and international intellectual property law. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the App on your personal Apple devices for your personal, non-commercial use.

Titles, cover art, posters, and descriptions shown in the App are the property of their respective rights holders and the media databases that provide them, and are used for identification and informational purposes. Fafnir claims no ownership over that material.

You retain ownership of the library and recommendations you create within the App. By adding friends, you allow those friends to view that content within the App, as described in our Privacy Policy.

7. Third-party data disclaimer

Fafnir displays catalog information from third-party services including The Movie Database (TMDB), RAWG, AniList, Open Library, and JustWatch. Runtimes, page counts, playtimes, review scores, and where a title is available to stream are estimates provided by those services. They may be wrong or change over time, and should not be relied upon for any purchase or subscription decision.

This app uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB. Streaming availability data is provided by JustWatch.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Norwegian law:

• The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
• We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components, or that the third-party data it displays will be accurate.
• Olmo Technologies shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the App.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable Norwegian consumer protection law.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time if you breach these Terms, or if we decide to discontinue the App. Upon termination, your licence to use the App immediately ceases.

You may stop using the App at any time, and you may delete your account and all synced data from Settings → Delete Account within the App.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Norway. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Norwegian courts, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection rights you may have under the law of your country of residence.

If you are a consumer located in the EU or EEA, you also have access to the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

11. Changes to terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via the App or by updating the "Last updated" date on this page. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
