Short version: Your personal data (quit dates, journal entries, settings) is stored on your device and, if iCloud is enabled, synced privately across your own Apple devices. We never sell it or use it for advertising. We use Firebase Crashlytics to fix crashes, RevenueCat to manage subscriptions, and a Cloudflare proxy for the optional AI coach feature. There are no ads or tracking.

1. Who we are

Frigg is developed and operated by Olmo Technologies, a sole-trader business based in Norway.

For the purposes of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Olmo Technologies is the data controller for personal data processed in connection with Frigg.

2. What data we collect

Data stored locally on your device and in iCloud

The following data is stored on your iPhone and, if you are signed in to iCloud, synchronised to your personal iCloud account via Apple's iCloud Key-Value Store:

This data is never transmitted to Olmo Technologies' servers. iCloud synchronisation is handled entirely by Apple and subject to the Apple Privacy Policy.

AI Coach messages

When you use the AI Coach feature, your messages are sent to a Cloudflare Workers proxy operated by Olmo Technologies, which forwards them to Anthropic (maker of Claude) to generate a response. Messages are not stored permanently and are not linked to your identity. Anthropic's data handling is governed by the Anthropic Privacy Policy.

Crash reporting

Frigg uses Firebase Crashlytics (Google) to collect anonymous crash reports and diagnostic data when the app crashes. This data does not include your personal habit data and is used solely to identify and fix bugs. Google's data handling is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.

What we do NOT collect

3. How we use your data

Data stored on your device is used solely to provide and improve the functionality of Frigg:

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any commercial purpose beyond operating the app.

4. Third-party services

Apple

Frigg uses Apple's StoreKit framework and iCloud Key-Value Store. Subscriptions and payments are handled entirely by Apple. Your iCloud data is stored in your personal Apple account and is not accessible to us. Apple's data handling is governed by the Apple Privacy Policy.

RevenueCat

Frigg uses RevenueCat to manage subscription status and validate purchases. RevenueCat may receive your Apple purchase receipt and subscription status. RevenueCat's data handling is governed by the RevenueCat Privacy Policy.

Anthropic (AI Coach)

When you use the AI Coach, your messages are forwarded via Cloudflare to Anthropic's Claude API to generate responses. Messages are not stored permanently and are not linked to your identity. Anthropic's data handling is governed by the Anthropic Privacy Policy.

Firebase Crashlytics (Google)

Frigg uses Firebase Crashlytics for anonymous crash reporting. No personal habit data is included in crash reports. Google's data handling is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.

No advertising networks

Frigg does not integrate any advertising SDK or third-party tracking library.

5. Data storage and security

Your personal data (quit dates, settings, journal entries) is stored locally in your device's sandboxed storage using Apple's standard iOS data protection APIs. This data is encrypted at rest by iOS and is not accessible to other apps. Where iCloud sync is enabled, a subset of this data (described in Section 2) is also stored in your private iCloud account and is secured by Apple.

We do not operate our own cloud database or backend server that stores your personal Frigg data. The Cloudflare proxy used for the AI coach feature does not persist any message content or personal data to storage.

6. Your rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom, you have the following rights under the GDPR:

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at contact@olmo-technologies.com. We will respond within 30 days.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet): www.datatilsynet.no.

7. Data retention

Data stored on your device is retained until you delete the app or use the Reset App function in Settings. Any data synced to your private iCloud account remains under your control through your Apple ID and iCloud settings. We do not retain your data on any Olmo server after you stop using Frigg.

8. Children's privacy

Frigg is intended for adults aged 18 and over, as it supports quitting addictive substances such as nicotine, alcohol, and gambling. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete that information.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will notify you within the app. Your continued use of Frigg after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
